Trey talks about Mariah & The Michael Jackson Memorial
Trey is hard at work for his first Gospel album, he took time to give an interview with BV Buzz

Before I let you go, you and Mariah recorded the smash single 'I'll Be There,' which is a remake of The Jackson 5 song. You two also sang that at Michael Jackson's memorial last year. What was that moment like for you?

- It was almost surreal and almost still feels like it never even happened. The crazy thing about it is that beforehand we were backstage and so many people kept coming by and speaking and then I went in the room with Mariah. Normally, we're just clowning, but since it was a memorial we had to be more serious and make it more geared toward Michael and that's how we kinda came up with the ending. Throughout this whole process no one came up to us to say that it was a funeral. We were thinking it was just a tribute. Usher was supposed to be there, Jennifer Hudson and those people. We just thought we were gonna be singing his songs so we'll do that. Then the curtain opened and it was a casket there it was just like whoa. Mariah couldn't even play it off because she was just choked up by the whole experience, which is understandable. I just remember that the casket was there. I hate singing at funerals period, but just imagine singing at one of your icon's funerals. It just doesn't seem like it happened, but it was an honor. I'm happy that I got to have that experience.

A little more on Mariah Carey’s humorous fall on stage in Singapore.

Apparently she twisted her ankle in those high fashion boots. A friend told her she should have packed more sensible shoes. Mariah’s response: “I don’t have any!”

Now Mariah’s publicist, Cindi Berger, is sending her flats via Federal Express.

But still no one is saying anything about Mariah’s much rumored pregnancy. There’s always a chance that she is not pregnant, that her larger size is due to the process of trying to get pregnant–steroids, etc. What way to live, in a fishbowl. You wonder sometimes how people can take being observed and commented on constantly.

One thing about Mariah: she has a sense of humor. And to one commenter who wrote in about her voice: on the You Tube clips, to me, Mariah sounds just fine.

I know there are Madonna v. Mariah fanatics who want to start something but really: no one ever accused Madonna of being a great singer.

Rumor is that the parties will be a weird (smart) way to make money, Nick is looking for sponsors.  A one-sheet flier for the "Nick Cannon Birthday celebration hosted by Mariah Carey" offers sponsors the chance to pay $2,500 to be in the gift bag, while a $15,000 donation includes "one tweet" and "mention in all p.r. materials."
For $25,000 you can be a "host sponsor" which includes "three tweets," a "right to service out photos" and a "logo on all collateral.

F1 gigs raise the bar 
In more ways than one, singer Mariah Carey was the biggest star at the Singapore Grand Prix concerts at the Padang.

When she appeared on Sunday at 10.40pm, shortly after Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso won the Formula One night race, many fans remarked how her yo-yo-ing weight was on the heavy side at the moment. Carey, who is married to actor/host Nick Cannon, has yet to confirm rumours that she is pregnant but she did look heftier than in her publicity pictures.

That was not the only surprise. Diva reputation notwithstanding, Carey showed that she could laugh at herself. She tumbled and fell on her butt after the first few songs and immediately laughed it off, blaming her $10,000 high-heeled shoes, which her assistants helped her remove while she continued singing.

Later she joked: 'They call me a diva but I am pouring my own drink.' 

Truly, it was a night she was exceptionally chatty between songs. More importantly, she could still hit the high notes, no doubt pleasing the 35,000-strong crowd thronging the Padang on the final night of the F1 weekend.

The performances by Carey and other pop acts such as Adam Lambert and Missy Elliott within the circuit park from last Friday to Sunday were certainly among the biggest gigs in the local concert calendar this year. Especially since F1 Rocks, which brought in Beyonce last year, went missing in action.

She is scheduled to be performing on Padang Stage Zone 4 from 22:30 to 00:00.

Mariah will stay a further day in Singapore, then leave on Tuesday, September 28. She is scheduled to depart The Sentosa Resort and Spa Hotel (2 Bukit Manis Road, Sentosa) at 7:30AM.

London merchant Vanquish Wine held the official UK launch of Champagne’s most expensive brut NV, Angel, last week
The new prestige cuvée which costs £640 a bottle has the backing of pop singers Mariah Carey and Sinitta, entrepreneur Stefano Zagni, as well as the winemaking expertise of Patrick D'Aulan, from the former Piper Heidsieck owning family.

Having found that women in high-profile US bars and nightclubs weren’t finishing their glasses of the favoured luxury Champagne brand, Cristal, he wanted to make something with the perfect flavour profile for women. 

“I wanted to create the most amazing Champagne taste-wise but with a more feminine style,” he told the drinks business at the UK launch on Thursday 17 September.

He managed to enlist the help of D’Aulan, whose family had sold Piper Heidsieck in 1989, and then the marketing support of the record label group Island Def Jam.

“I wanted to create a vibe and buzz before launching the brand but the celebrities were charging too much, between US$2-3 million, so I approached the record labels,” he said. 

“I struck a deal with Island Def Jam that gave me access to celebrity events and the first one was Mariah Carey’s first wedding anniversary.”

According to Zagni, Carey “loved” the Champagne, which was served at the event in Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas on 30 April last year, and was excited by the name because her upcoming album would be called Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel. 

“After that I decided to give her a stake in the business and she is now a partner,” he stated. 

Zagni also said that the Champagne would not be sold in the off-trade but people would be able to buy the new cuvée for drinking at home through the brand's website. 

The Champagne has a starting price of £640 online and Zagni says that Angel’s target market – high profile nightclubs – will sell the Brut NV for £750. 

Angel has already launched in the US and has been taken on by North America’s largest distributor Southern Wines & Spirits. 

Zagni recalled that “There has been no resistance against the price,” which is upwards of US$900 in the nightclub market. 

So far Angel’s total production is 6,000 bottles, 5,000 of which are the brut NV, and 1,000 the vintage, which sells online for £800. 

Zagni hopes to increase that to 60-100,000 bottles and admitted that the US “could be taking 30 to 40,000 bottles fairly soon”.

Interestingly, Carey is not just involved in the promotion of the brand, but also the taste profile. 

“We sent every three months a range of samples for her to choose the colour and then the taste,” recalled d’Aulan, who points out that Angel will add a rosé to its UK line-up at then end of 2012.

“She likes a lighter style and colour,” he says, and also notes that Angel may halve its dosage to 3 g/l and increase the time spent ageing in cellar. 

“For someone who never really drinks she knows exactly what she wants: she is very clear about what she wants in life,” d’Aulan also said of Carey. 

Upcoming additions to the range include a jeroboam and a special edition rosé called Hint of Pink by MC.

Anyway, Nick just released a track dissing Eminem, the track is called " I'm a Slick Rick" and it goes hard on Eminem.  The war is not over, dunno if it's a good idea just when Mariah is ready to release new material, but who am I to know when the time is right or not when it comes to defend your wife?

"Mariah Carey is also developing a movie musical based on her colossal-selling Christmas album. 

It's about a town outside a city - perhaps not unlike Mariah's hometown of Huntington, L.I. - where a ruthless developer wants to turn it into one big mall.

"Mariah doesn't want to let that happen," says her producing partner Benny Medina. "Her character uses song and love to keep the Christmas spirit alive." 

Mariah says the script, which "High School Musical" writer Peter Barsocchini is working on, is still in the early stages. But she tells us, "Since I recorded the Christmas album, I've always wanted to make a movie to go with it, something that people could watch and hear and enjoy every year. I'm into it. I'm all about the holiday season."

I know all people who were at the recording session were bounded to secrecy, however someone doesn't seem to know what "secrecy" means.  Two song titles have leaked, hopefully Mariah and her peeps will find out who that person was (there are not thousands ). 

Anyway, thanks to Mariah Daily Journal we get some infos:

Last Friday night, August 27, Mariah had a big session with a full live band at Fox Studios in Los Angeles, California recording 5 holiday songs - 2 new and 3 traditional songs!

The two new and original Christmas songs, both co-written with Marc Shaiman of Broadway's Hairspray fame are:
- "Christmas Time Is In The Air Again"
- "One Child" 

"Chistmas Time Is In The Air Again" has been described as "a really nice mid-tempo number."

Rap-Up.com has exclusively learned that Mimi’s upcoming holiday project will be calledMerry Christmas II You. The II represents the follow-up to 1994’s multi-platinum Merry Christmas album, which spawned the now-classic “All I Want for Christmas Is You.” The new offering is scheduled for a November 2 release and will include original material as well as covers of holiday classics.

An accompanying DVD will also be released the same day, but there are currently no details on what exactly it will contain. The packaging was shot in the spring by famed photographer David LaChapelle and features a festive setting with fake snow, tinsel, and wooden reindeers.

Mariah Carey Pregnancy (All But) Confirmed
Sources close to the couple have confirmed to the Juice that Carey is indeed pregnant. So let me be the first to extend a warm, though unofficial congratulations to the future mommy and daddy!

Although folks around them are bursting to speak openly about the bundle of joy, it might be a while before the pair officially announce being with baby. Just a few days after Mariah thanked fans for their "well wishes," saying, "When the time is right, everyone will know" via her Twitter account, her husband continued to be cryptic about the pregnancy. "I think 'superstitious' is the wrong word... I think it's more a spiritual thing," he told USMagazine.com yesterday (Aug. 30). "She wants to keep as much privacy as she possibly can."

Don't expect Mariah to keep her privacy for too long, though. I hear that she is four months pregnant already, meaning she won't be able to hide the baby bump for much longer. That also means she's  past the first trimester, or as Cannon put it to Us, the "certain time limit you're supposed to wait before you can actually officially say that you are [pregnant] and all that stuff."

To further juice up the speculations, a video clip of Mariah performing in São Paulo, Brazil, surfaced online last week, in which her belly is visibly more round than I remember.

No matter how long it is until a formal announcement is made, we wish the Carey-Cannons a wonderful term and a beautiful and healthy baby.
