The Heroes of Mariah - Mariah's Birthday party was really great, we all had fun (well, I hope so ).
As usual some people who confirmed their attendance at the party didn't came, too bad for them, they missed THE cake and the gifts.  I'll post a report and pictures asap, also I will edit the movie I shot, burn it on a DVD and send it to Mariah .  It was not only a party between fans, we also made a good street promo before the party, passers by and tourists who were around the Grand'Place will remember Mariah's Birthday .
Thanks to all the fans who were there for the street promo and the party and also a big thanks to the three Dutch fans who came especially from The Netherlands .  If one day there would be "opportunities" (if you know what I mean), I know who came for the street promo and the party .

Mariah mentioned in a question of the Weakest Link
I was watching the "Weakest Link" on BBC2 and suddenly Ann Robinson asked the following question:
- In 2003 Mariah Carey had a big success with the song "I Know What You Want" , that she sang with Busta who?
Answer from the player:
- Keating.

That was so funny, can you imagine... Busta Keating

Celebrity gadfly Paris Hilton takes her Chihuahua, Tinkerbell, just about everywhere with her. Sometimes they wear matching Chanel outfits. Tinkerbell is such a fixture on the Hollywood circuit that she is doted on by more than just Hilton. Demi Moore, for instance, stopped by to pay homage at the NBA All-Star Celebrity game.
Not to be outdone by her pal Paris, Nicole Richie is parading around with her own dog, a Shih Tzu named Honey. Naomi Watts travels with her Yorkshire terrier, Bob, and Kate Hudson goes around town with her miniature Pomeranian, Clara Bow.
So does Mariah Carey, who takes her Jack Russell terrier, Jack, on the road.
And Paula Abdul's Chihuahua, Thumbelina, hits American Idol rehearsals right along with her.
The list goes on. Cindy Adams, gossip columnist for the New York Post, wrote a book about her beloved Yorkie, Jazzy, who died in October. He traveled with her, too, but mostly to play dates with Judge Judy's Shih Tzu, LuLu, and Blaine Trump's Yorkie, Pearl.

Worldwide request day
On March the 27th., let's all request Mariah on radios, TVs and everywhere we can for her Birthday.  This would be cool if this could be done in every country of the world, so, for her Birthday, Mariah would be on radios and TVs worldwide .  If you have a website, please post this message for your visitors and if you don't have a website, spread the word to your friends.  This message will need to be reposted several time to remind your visitors and your friends.  Thanks .

Cd sales in Belgium dropped 30 percent.  This is of course due to the high price of the cds, illegal downloads and piracy.  If the VAT was lower, of course, the price of the cds would be lower, so, maybe the illegal downloads and piracy would decrease.  I say maybe, 'cause I heard yesterday that a man in his 60's has been arrested for sharing copyrighted songs.
Never, ever download Mariah's commercial songs dammit .

Did you know that it's Mariah who named Damion Young "Damizza"?  It's Mariah who came up with the name, she just said "Hmmm Damion....Dam, Dam, Damizza." Mariah and Damizza were going to use it just for "I Still Believe" and Damizza was going to go back to just being Damion Young but it just stuck.

Aretha Home From The Hospital
The Queen of Soul won't be wearing a hospital gown Thursday as she celebrates her 62nd birthday.
Aretha Franklin smiled and gave the thumbs up sign to a group a waiting fans Wednesday afternoon as she was released from Sinai-Grace Hospital in Detroit, her hometown.
Her doctor, Claud Young, tells WDIV-TV that the singer apparently had a reaction to penicillin while on her way home from Chicago to Detroit Saturday.
That's when she was admitted to the hospital.
Young says Franklin was coughing up blood and had a reduced platelet level, a problem that has since been corrected by medication.
Young says her illness appears to be an isolated event.
Franklin, whose soulful voice has made her one of the world's most revered singers, is known for numerous hits including her signature song "Respect," "(You Make Me Feel Like) a Natural Woman," "Baby I Love You," "Chain of Fools" and "Freeway of Love."
The daughter of a Baptist preacher famous for his fiery sermons, Franklin started out singing in the church choir and - with her dad's encouragement and connections to the major gospel artists of the day - was making records by the age of 14.
She's worked with a wide variety of artists in her nearly five-decade long career, including Burt Bachrach, Luther Vandross, Annie Lennox, George Michael, Sly Stone, Elton John, James Brown, Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston.
The legendary singer continues to tour and has yet to slow down.
Last month, she won a Grammy Award for best traditional R&B vocal performance for "Wonderful" from her latest CD, "So Damn Happy."

Western pop singers have been drawing huge crowds of affluent fans in Thailand as its economy recovers from the 1997 financial crash. DMX Refuses To Record For Def Jam
By Nolan Strong
DMX announced at a press conference that he was refusing to deliver any more recordings to Def Jam, the label he is signed to.
DMX that over the years, he has made the label almost $50 million dollars, but received an amount in return that he called "a loan."
"The highest paid artist gets paid 18 cents on the dollar, it's straight robbery," DMX said. "They still on your music and they ask for maybe 27 songs each album and they only use about 16 and give the rest away. It's straight robbery man, I can't be a part of it anymore."
DMX added that record labels tie artists up in unfair contracts that last too long. He also lashed out at the radio industry.
"All the radio stations are bought and paid for, it all comes from the heads of the record companies. It's not about talent anymore."
DMX is still signed to the label. At press time, Def Jam representatives had no comment.

Heroes of Mariah - Mariah's Birthday party this Saturday
After a lot of testing at home to make THE birthday cake I wanted, I finally decided to order one made by a professional, I gave him my instructions this morning and he was like... "... What do you want me to do?  That will not be easy."  Then I said: "I don't care, I want the one I designed or I go elsewhere to order."   So, it's ok, I'll have the one I designed , well, let's hope so .  I hope that the ones who are coming to the party will enjoy THE birthday cake .

New chief of Island/Def Jam is too far from the street
By Greg Simms Jr.
I'm still wondering what in the world L.A. Reid is going to do now that he's in charge of Island/Def Jam. Reid, the former head of Arista Records (before he was fired), had a good track record as co-president of La Face Records in the '90s, but his Arista stint was mixed.
And Def Jam's hip-hop audience is a lot harder to please than Arista's mainly pop-music audience.
I think Reid is the wrong fit. I can think of several people I would have put in the chief-executive chair instead of Reid - Chris Lighty or Mona Scott of Violator Management, Harve Pierre (P. Diddy's No. 2 man), even Dame Dash (the head of Roc-A-Fella Records).
When Reid ran La Face, he was money. But that was when he was younger. Hungrier. Now Reid is a really rich fortysomething who isn't close to the street at all.
Yeah, he can find a younger person who's street savvy to handle most of the finding and grooming of talent. But, for Def Jam, you need someone who can follow Def Jam's tried-and-true, grittier blueprint.
Can Reid work with the likes of Irv Gotti? Dame Dash? Can he find stars to replace Jay-Z? DMX?
In the upheaval at Island/Def Jam, one name that hasn't been mentioned is Kevin Lyles, who was an effective No. 2 man at the company. Both his ex-boss, Lyor Cohen, and Cohen's replacement, Reid, have new posts. But there's been no word on Lyles.
But I can't imagine the guy will be jobless for long. He and Cohen have been an incredible one-two punch at Def Jam for years.

A track about Mariah on Sonic Youth's new album "Nurse" (part 2)
Though not officially part of the conference, Sonic Youth gave early arrivals like myself a real treat Tuesday night, running through nearly 90 minutes of new, unreleased material in the tree-lined back yard of Stubb's BBQ.
The legendary New York act, sort of a noise-rock jam band, played most, if not all, of its forthcoming album, Sonic Youth Nurse, including the cryptically titled "Mariah Carey and the Arthur Doyle Hand Creme."
"It's going to be on the album when it comes out in June, but Geffen (Records) says we can't use the words 'Mariah Carey,'" frontman Thurston Moore told the crowd at Stubb's. "Not that it's evil. It's just illegal."

A track about Mariah on Sonic Youth's new album "Nurse"
Their new album is to be released on June the 7th., the track about Mariah is called: "Mariah Carey and the Arthur Doyle Hand Creme".  This song has already been played at the 2003 Bonnaroo festival.  The festival site is in Manchester, TN, which is about 60 miles southeast of Nashville and northwest of Chattanooga.  I listened to the song taken from their performance at the 2003 Bonnaroo festival, and honestly I can't hear clearly enough the lyrics to know if it's trashy towards Mariah or not.  Sonic Youth guitarist Lee Ranaldo described the songs as "tributes" to a "sympathetic figure" who, like many a pop star (and underground musician, for that matter), found herself crushed between the cogs of the music industry's relentless machinery.

New What Would U Do version by Shade Sheist and N.U.N.E

Ok guys, maybe you know it, maybe not, Damizza and Shade Sheist have what they call a "beef", result, Shade made a new version of What Would U Do (with only him, N.U.N.E and... Mariah).  This track is now a very amateurish "work", everyone could do a better work with a program like eJay.  Oh dear, Shade totally destroyed the track, he also totally destroyed Mariah's part in the song.  Firstly he totally removed Mariah from the track, then he copy-pasted here and there a few seconds (badly cutted) from the end.  Now, thanks to Shade and his new version of What Would U Do, some people will be able to trash Mariah by blaming her for this mess.  Let's only hope the radios will NOT aired this new version.
I'm really mad towards Shade Sheist, 'cause I putted so much time and work promoting the original version (by Damizza), days and nights long, many phone calls (national and international), meetings with radio managers and DJs and it was NOT to see now Shade Sheist making a bad bootleg of What Would U Do .
If you wanna hear this massacre, click here and then click on PYO Radio.
Message to Shade: Hey Shade, you said "F**** that song", so why did you waisted your "precious" time by making this bad bootleg?  Also, why did you totally destroyed Mariah's part, as you said she was your homegirl?

Quaint Beirut, hip Melbourne
Hayley Sham
Beirut, the Paris of the Middle East, has stunning architecture and a vibrant nightlife, while Melbourne glows with metropolitan ease.
The deep scars from Lebanon's war between 1975 and 1990 are still visible when one visits the capital Beirut.
Strangely enough, this adds to the charm of Beirut, which has become a city of contrasts; modern architecture and huge stadiums against war-torn and abandoned buildings; winding old alleys that lead to wide avenues; small shops juxtaposed beside huge malls.
Known as the most liberal of Middle Eastern cities today, Beirut might well be on its way to reinstating its fame and glory of the past — during the pre-war period it was dubbed the Paris of the Middle East.
For those not familiar with the place, let's just say it's good and safe enough for Mariah Carey to have flown there to perform after her recent tour of Malaysia. And mind you, the diva chose Beirut before continuing her Charmbracelet World Tour in Dubai.
Indeed, it seems to be showtime, all the time, in Beirut these days, with stars constantly illuminating the local entertainment scene. From modern contemporary dances to Lido cabaret, belly and folk dancing, it's all there amidst thriving, busy outdoor bazaars and a flourishing nightlife. Also, restaurants and cafes are open till the wee hours. And as you dig into Lebanese cuisine, you will experience a melting pot of Turkish, Arabic and French cooking. A typical meal consists of spinach pies, dips and pizza for appetisers, followed by a main course of mutton or fish, stuffed with rice and nuts. The national dish is kibbeh, a mix of minced lamb and bulgur wheat which is sometimes served raw, but more often fried or baked into a pie. And for desserts, it will more often than not be syrupy baklava pastries and other such sweets.

Did you knew that at least one Mariah song is a waltz?
Here's what I read today:
Chicago Dance co-founder Gregory Day, a ballet pro and champion ballroom dancer skilled in scads of different styles, teaches the waltz to students of all ages. He likened the speedier Viennese type, the full-blown version of which requires advanced ability and serious stamina, to "two bodies that are spiraling around each other like DNA." It is the most dramatic, but not the only, version of this timeless classic.
"A lot of the time in dance classes I like to play contemporary pop waltzes," he said recently at the company's new digs on West Huron (they also have a studio on West Irving Park). "Mariah Carey's got a few. And Madonna's got one. Simply Red have a really beautiful waltz. And Diana Ross has a whole bunch. Then it doesn't feel so much like, 'This is our grandfather's dance.' "
Tips from Gregory Day
1. If you can walk, you can dance.
2. The man always leads.
3. Soften your knees, stay nice and tall.
4. Focus on "clean feet," i.e. avoid sloppy steps.
5. The faster the dance gets, the smaller your steps should be.
6. Maintain good posture. Almost all dancing is about posture and efficiency of movement.
7. Better to start with slower waltzes and work your way up to Viennese.
8. If possible, wear soft, suede-soled dance shoes for easier movement.
9. There's often room for improvisation, whether major or minor.
10. The basic waltz box-step pattern can be used for a variety of dances.
Among the list of songs, I found:

According to PageSix, Mariah was at the Marquee last week end.
So, I made a few research about the Marquee and here it is:

The Marquee is “The Place to Be” in New York.
The back half VIP section of the club finds privacy behind a huge staircase, which leads upstairs to an equally big lounge that overlooks the dance floor. Unless you’re licensed and registered with New York’s Interior Department of Hip, it’s going to be a while before you see the inside of this former garbage truck garage.

Mariah's Rich Leppard
By Roger Friedman
Nice zinger in today's Page Six about Mariah Carey's version of Def Leppard's "Bringing on the Heartbreak." In fact, the recording brought Carey excellent reviews and a lot of new listeners. She even performed the song live on the "Today" show from the Mall of America and won many kudos. It continues to be a radio hit for Carey.

Out of exile
By Richard Johnson with Paula Froelich and Chris Wilson
There's at least one more comeback in store for Mariah Carey. The songbird - now in self-imposed exile, touring in Europe and Asia - is teaming up with ex-Arista head L.A. Reid, whose specialty is finding and nurturing talent like Avril Levigne, Pink, TLC and Outkast. Reid, now head of Def Jam, confirmed at Spice Market the other night he will be "working closely" with Carey on her next album. "That should ensure she won't be doing any hideous remakes of Def Leppard songs," one wag quipped. A Carey album should hit late this year.
Source: PageSix (All rights reserved)
Heroes comment: Who's this wag????  Before speaking he should have asked Phil Collen, the Def Leppard guitarist what he thinks of Mariah's cover of Bringin' On The Heartbreak.  And if this wag is too lazy to go ask or search himself, here's the info: "Jesus, man. She's an icon. She's one of the most influential singers of the last decade.  She's on our side and it's an honour she's done it."

Malaysia has a new idol  strange sense of humour

Entertainment: Butt of his own jokes
Chow Ee-Tan
Then came Rizal, billed ‘the future of Malaysian stand up-comedy’, who showed he was indeed a talent to be reckoned with. Dismissing the announcer’s introduction of him as ‘Harith’s clone’, Rizal, who was full of lightly animated gestures, began with making fun of Harith’s large head.
A 20-year-old university student, his jokes were naturally slanted towards the younger generation, speaking in youthful lingo.
He laughed at the American government, Mariah Carey’s high-pitched voice (because her nipple was attached to an electric box), and Janet Jackson’s boobs.
Rizal’s jokes were, at times, rather racy but not distasteful as they were told in such funny manner that he won the audience over.

Femme Magazine March 2004 issue interview transcript and translation
On stage, we see you often crying. What puts you in such a state?
The fact of writing sad songs (laughs). In fact, it depends.  Music has always been part of my life.  And because of that all my emotions are related to it.  And then, during the concerts, there's always someone in the audience who cries while singing.  At this moment, I think : Oh my God, not me and here you go.
It's in Puerto Rico that you wrote Charmbracelet (it's been told you was lying on a catamaran).  Is N° 10 on the way?
At the moment, there are only ideas, but the release is not for soon.  In fact, as soon as I'm back home after the concert in Dubai, I'll start to work on it again.
Where do you find inspiration?
I find it in my personal experiences that I try to transcript in the most reliable way.
How difficult is this international tour in your eyes?
What's difficult is that I never know in advance how long I will stay in a country.  Doing tours allows me to meet more fans, thing that I need to, at least, should try to do.  Also, I discover new countries.
Like Lebanon?
You know, I never know what I will expect in far away countries.  But already at the airport, the people seemed warm, welcoming and cool. However I wasn't able to visit the country.
You have done so many jobs.  Which one was the most difficult?
During all this time, I wrote songs, and it was the best part of my life... I sang, I was even backup singer... The hardest job? I should say waitress.
At 17 years old, it is said that you gave your demo to the CEO of Sony Music during a party and you escaped...  In his limo, he listened to the tape and came back.  But you already had left!
Exactly.  He searched me several days.  Except that it was a friend who gave him the tape, Brenda Starr.  At this time I was working with her as background singer.
Superstar, but you never forgot your past.
The Camp Mariah is a camp for disadvantaged children from 13 to 15 years old.  They can eat, make fun, but also learn how to make choices for their upcoming careers.
Where is your home?
In New York, I live in a triplex, where I forget everything.  I like to retire in a room that I have decorated in a Morrocan style, with a beautiful view.
You will act soon in a play “The Sleeping Prince” in London.  A role which was played by Marilyn Monroe…
Marilyn Monroe is my favorite actress.  So, I’m very careful...  It's a challenge for me.  The rehearsals have been postoned because of my tour.  In November, I should be on stage.
It's said you bought her piano!
It is very delicate, in bad condition and not tuned.  I have just kept him in my house to look at it.
Who is for your the ideal man?
I don’t know... I couln't give you a name of a star, no !
Don’t you have friends in hollywood?
It’s very difficult.  My friends are not celebrities.  True people, without artifice.
Why do you feel so alone?
All of us feel alone at some time.  People we think are close deceive us.  Celebrity allowed me to realize my dream, but I became more suspicious, I don't know very well who I can trust.  If I must believe the ones who say they are my friends...!

Mariah Carey plans new album without Reid?
Mariah Carey is currently working on her follow-up album to, Charmbracelet. The singer is now under the microscope of new Island Def Jam president, L.A. Reid. “She has not met with Reid yet. She wants to complete her album without his input,” says a business associate. When Mariah signed on with Island Def Jam after Virgin terminated her, Mariah was in a tug of war with Arista, J and Island.
She chose to go with Island Def Jam. “This is a very important album to Miss Carey and she wants it to be her best. She doesn’t want to ruin the success with outside interference. She respects L.A. Reid but feels she needs to do this on her own.” Carey’s new album is due this fall. The diva will have to sit with Reid before the release of it’s first single.

Heroes comment: Is it just me or do I feel sarcasm in this article ?  Either way, I don't care, I'm gonna sing : "So~~me Day~~ My Prin~~ce Will Co~~me, So~~me day~~ I'll fi~~nd my lo~~ve."
Yaaaaayyyy, we love that, another one: "Whistle While You Wo~~rk, just whistle while you wo~~rk, put on that grin and start right in to whistle loud and lo~~ng, just hum a merry tu~~ne, just do your best and take a rest and sing yourself a song, when there's too much to do~~, don't let it bother you~~, forget your troubles, try to be just like a cheerful chick-a-dee, and whistle while you work, come on get smart, tune up and start, to whistle while you work." that's too funny, another one: "Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho, it's home from work we go."  oops, be careful Mariah, don't eat the apple J. Lo could give you .

A Steel event
The elusive Danielle Steel hates to do interviews and usually refuses to talk about herself. Yet half a billion copies of her novels have been sold. Her latest is Ransom, and her self-named San Francisco art gallery is also winning raves.
Now Danielle is organizing the Nick Traina Foundation benefit to raise funds against mental illness. This is a legacy to memorialize her son who lost his young life to manic-depression at age 19. The May 1 gala has some big-name backers - Elizabeth Taylor, Sidney Poitier, Jackie Collins, Sharon Osbourne and Tipper Gore. There'll be a performance at the event by Mariah Carey. Check it out on www.nicktrainafoundation.org.

Marvellous Mariah

WOW!  I am truly truly impressed. What a show!
Five years in the Gulf and this had to be the best one yet.
We’ve all been to one or more concerts in Dubai but how many times can we actually come out feeling we’ve gotten value for our money?
The Divas that start late, finish early and lip sync, some so badly they would be better off using subtitles!! The boy bands are all looks, voice vocalisers and testosterone. The sound systems that take even the greatest of performers and make them sound like  a pack of Strepsils wouldn’t go amiss, or much worse, they sound like me in the bath!!!
But Mariah… Well, the venue was excellent, no confusion over parking, cause everybody knows you can’t park there in the day, so you have no chance in the night. Quite sensibly, taxis were taken and traffic was not an issue.
The grounds were well controlled, food and beverages made readily available and music filled the air to create a good party atmosphere.
Diva delivery: At around 9.45 pm the show began. Okay, it was supposed to start at nine, but she is a Diva after all!! And the ambience was good so hardly anyone noticed.
It was just that – a SHOW. Dancing, singing, two large screens  with an excellent view, no having to push up front and do the sardine impersonation to get a glimpse. The sound was amazing and not just by Dubai standards.
Mariah opened with an obscure song, but quickly moved into Dreamlover, Through the rain, My all and more. The balance of old favourites, new upbeat dance routines and ballads was just right, the air was charged with excitement and anticipation for what she would sing next, for whether she would change yet another costume… for about 14 songs, she changed costumes seven, count them, seven stunning times. The true mark of a star: “Got to have the right ensemble for the song, dahling.”
The backing singers were amazing with individual  voices  that reached notes in true Harlem-hair-raising style. As for the lady herself, she was just that, a true lady for the romantics, a stunning sexy mover for those who say dance matters, and an angelic perfect-pitched pro-fessional for those of us who admire real genuine talent.
GW Verdict: Tonight, Mariah, you were the Hero and the perfect Vision of Love. (Yes, she sang both songs, right at the end in an encore, to leave us with a wonderful romantic mood for the weekend.)

Beauty in the Gulf
mmmmmMariah
A beauty in the Gulf when Mariah Carey is in town? Naah, she out-maxes them all.
And not just with her five-octave vocal range. Keith J Fernandez went to the Press conference to get himself a Vision of Love, but returned with the standard answers to the standard questions. He trawled the web for some more data:
Date of birth and sun sign?
March 27, 1970; Aries.
Single, married, uh-uh?
Ex-husband Tommy Mottola pretty much put her on the road to stardom but Mariah broke out spectacularly with her Butterfly album and has since taken a more active interest in her career than most, writing and producing several of her songs.
Favourite song?
“I’m attached to certain songs from each of my albums, but the audience reaction often changes the way I enjoy a song. One song audiences seem to relate to most is Hero, and I really enjoy that,” she said at the conference.
Downtime in Dubai?
“Hit the beach, hopefully!”
A belief in charms?
“Yes, I do believe in charms. I’m not wearing my bracelet because I’ve left it upstairs. We got here so quick, I didn’t have a chance to unpack.”
And when the tour ends?
“I’m going back home! Maybe not wake up for awhile, spend some time with my friends…”

Universal Music digitises entire European back catalogue
by Leigh Phillips
Universal Music International's entire active European music catalogue - some 300,000 tracks drawn from more than 25,000 albums - has been fully digitised and is available for online retailers and distributors.
The move makes Universal the first major music company to digitise its entire active European catalogue and offer audio, images and data as part of an online sales order and delivery system.
The music is to be distributed through OD2, the continent’s largest digital music distributor.
More than 5,000 artists from more than twenty countries have recordings available in this form, including include Mariah Carey, Shania Twain, Bryan Adams, Busted, Ronan Keating, S Club 8, Sugababes, t.A.T.u., ABBA and Sting.
Following an intensive two-year Digital Initiatives project, Universal Music wants digital music positioned at the heart of the company's entire content management and delivery systems, requiring a major overhaul of processes that had previously been geared only towards the manufacture and production of physical CDs.
All future domestic and international titles issued in Europe will be available to Universal's online retail partners prior to or on release, with on average 2,000 newly released tracks per week added to the system.
Digital tracks will incorporate unique 'metadata' – detailed information on the artist, track title, track length, and rules describing to retailers how the track can be used. This information will be used by Universal to track royalty payments.
Universal already has digital distribution agreements with key online music retailers and distributors around the world, including Apple, Napster, Buy.com and Liquid.

MusiquePlus opens its doors to a fan frenzy
Music video station's open house continues today. Queuing starts at 8 a.m. for studio tours, chats with VJs and live shows by Ève, de Montigny and others
Bernard Perusse - The Gazette
Upstairs, video-game terminals were being readied for a fans-vs.-VJs tournament of the Second World War game Call of Duty, but iconoclastic VJ Claude Rajotte said he had no intention of participating. Rajotte's Cimetière des CD show, which is returning to MusiquePlus in the fall after a hiatus, is where you go for the vicarious thrill of witnessing the destruction of lousy CDs - as defined by Rajotte, at least. He was typically candid about his least-loved artists yesterday, using words like "detest" and "disgusting." His current list: Mariah Carey, Nickelback and Helmut Lotti.
But while Rajotte was taking suggestions on which discs need to meet a violent end, he said he wasn't being approached as much as his colleagues.
"I don't know. I scare people," he said.
The open house continues at MusiquePlus, at Ste. Catherine and Bleury Sts., today from 1 to 8 p.m.
Source: canada.com (All rights reserved) (extract)
Heroes comment: You know what Claude (Rajotte), I hope that one day someone will make a "Cimetière des show", so you could be in it .  And by the way, what's scares me, is that someone pays you to destroy cds .

Sad story...
Stranded workers cry fowl
By Andrew Conte and Luis Fabregas
Sixteen Cubans and one Colombian, along with their dog "Mariah Carey," are marooned in an Avalon motel without the jobs they say they were promised or enough money to drive back home to Miami.
The men said they were promised hot meals, clean beds and $7-an-hour jobs cutting chicken parts at a food processing plant owned by former Steeler Terry Long.
The workers -- all legal immigrants -- say they were packed into dingy motel rooms and left to eat strawberry jam from packets taken from an Eat'n Park. They also say they have worked 28 hours without pay so far. When they arrived in Pittsburgh 11 days ago, they spent two nights sleeping in their two cars and a van.
"(Long) promised us so much, and we have nothing," Arcadio Luis Lemes, 47, a native of Havana, said Tuesday. "We came here to work and look where we have ended. ... Never in our lives, not even in Cuba, have we ever been through anything like this."
Sisters & Brothers Forever, a government-financed charity in Miami, dealt with a Long employee to arrange the jobs. A spokesman blamed the problems on miscommunication with Long's company, Value Added Foods. Willie White, who told the charity he manages Long's plant, arranged for the workers to come to Pittsburgh before the company was ready to employ them, said Jesus Porven, who works for the Miami nonprofit.
Long, a starting offensive right guard for the Steelers from 1984 to 1991, couldn't be reached for comment yesterday. He abandoned his plans to open a chicken slaughterhouse on the North Side in October after a fire there caused $100,000 in damage. Emily Buka, executive director of the Riverside Center for Innovation, helped Long put together financing for the North Side location and said he plans to open his business in Bethel Park.
The new plant could open Saturday.
White also was unavailable. The phone number he provided to Sisters & Brothers Forever was answered by a woman in Arkansas who said she knew White, but could not reach him.
Porven said Long has gone out of his way to give the workers a place to stay and food to eat. The men have been staying since Feb. 21 at the Avalon Motel along Ohio River Boulevard. Several of the 17 workers have caused problems on their own by drinking excessively, using drugs and refusing to be flexible, he said.
"(Long) is honestly trying to make the best of the situation to keep them content and make sure they have what they need," Porven said. "It's been tough for both sides."
Five of the men yesterday spoke passionately in Spanish about an 11-day ordeal in a strange city with little food and money. They said the little work they have done did not involve processing chicken parts, but carrying boxes, computers and heavy machinery.
They accused Long of withholding their pay and giving them only two meals a day.
Four of the workers met yesterday with Patrick Narcisi, an Avalon attorney who said he plans to file complaints on their behalf with the U.S. Labor Department. It will take the federal government several weeks to process the complaints, conduct an investigation and issue a ruling, Narcisi said.
Porven, of Sisters & Brothers Forever, said White arranged for the workers to leave Miami on Feb. 20. When they arrived the next day, the workers could not find White or Long. Value Added Foods was not ready to employ them, Porven said.
It took the workers two days to find Long, and they were forced to sleep in their cars. They said they called police, who told them the chicken processing plant did not exist. The North Side location appeared to be closed yesterday. No one answered the door, and the inside lights were off.
Two of the men initially returned to Miami, but Long paid for them to return to Pittsburgh, Porven said.
When they showed up for work, the men were instructed to carry boxes filled with paper and computers and machinery used to process chicken and vegetables.
"We haven't seen one chicken," said Carlos Abraham, 51, who arrived in Miami in 1992 from Havana. "That's not what we came here for."
The men complained they have no money for food and gasoline. Abraham worried about his mutt, named Mariah Carey. The dog has been sleeping on blankets in Abraham's van. Lemes said he had only coffee and bread in the past seven days, and others said they too have had little to eat. Lemes figured he spent about $350 to get to Pittsburgh from Miami.
"All we want is for (Long) to pay us so we can go home," Lemes said. "We didn't come to Pittsburgh to sit in this ... hotel. It's a shame and an embarrassment that something like this would happen in this country."
